Windjammer Lifestyle Cruise January 18-24, 2015

Dream Pleasure Tours is excited to announce a first! The Windjammer Mandalay has been chartered for a lifestyle cruise event! This is a first among cruise lines and is the perfect opportunity to have a true sailing experience.  Traveling to the Grenadines, the Mandalay will provide the perfect backdrop for a week of relaxation, lots of sun and surf, and the opportunity to show as much skin as you want.

As a small sailing ship this vessel is perfect for more intimate gatherings and provides the opportunity to really connect with fellow passengers unlike the massive floating cities other cruise lines provide where you get lost in a crowd. So whether you’re new to the lifestyle of a seasoned veteran, a lifestyle cruise opportunity on the Mandalay offers unparalleled service and an experience like no other floating vessel around.

Windjammer cruises are also laid back and casual with no need for formal attire (and during this clothing optional event, no attire is required) making packing a breeze. Windjammer is also the only venue to provide a totally immersive sailing environment so you can relive the days of the real pirates of the Caribbean. The Mandalay is the last tall ship in the Windjammer fleet which is still sailing the Caribbean making this a highly coveted opportunity. Adding in a lifestyle friendly, clothing optional event by Dream Pleasure Tours makes this sailing a true once in a lifetime opportunity.

Because the Mandalay is a small sailing vessel at 236 feet bow to aft and housing 31 cabins containing a total of 60 berths, space is limited, so don’t wait to make a reservation. Make your booking today!

The ship was built in 1923 for financier E. F. Hutten and truly is a historic gem.  The traditionally appointed Mandalay has sailed the Caribbean for many years where she earned a loyal and repeat following from guests soon to be recognized as “Jammers”. Totally renovated and restored to her former glory, the Mandalay brings back all the fun and festivities that Windjammer has been known for, Crab Races, Bloody Mary’s, Story time, Rum Swizzles, Theme parties, and sleeping on deck to name a few. This little ship sits proudly among her sister tall ships ever welcoming new and repeat guests to the adventures that lie ahead.

The Itinerary

January 17th – pre-cruise hotel party at the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort Hotel in Anse Grenada – St. George’s Town, Grenada
January 18th – set sail at sunset
January 19th – arrive at Bequia
January 20th – arrive at Union Island
January 21st – arrive in Mayreau
January 22nd – arrive in Tobago Cay
January 23rd - arrive in Carriacou
January 24th – A.M. arrival in St. Georges Town with a post cruise Rehab party held at the Radisson

Make sure you set aside time for the pre and post cruise parties which are a perfect venue to meet fellow passengers and start friendships. In true Windjammer tradition, the once “Stowaway night” is redefined with a pre-cruise hotel stay. Come a day early or more and relax at the beautiful beach-front Radisson Hotel which is minutes away from the airport and conveniently located to the cruise port of St. Georges.

The hotel is also a short walk away from a major shopping center for any items which may have been forgotten.  And for those looking for local fare, take a leisurely walk down the beach and stop in to the Umbrellas Beach Bar for live music, tropical drinks and snacks to hold you over until dinner.

The Rehab party is the last organized event and often bittersweet for passengers who don’t want to end their vacation. With early entry into the port, guests with late departures have (for a small fee) the entire day to spend relaxing pool-side at the Radisson while waiting for return flights home. Spend the day sunning, swimming, enjoying lunch or watching the big screen TV at the poolside or beachside bar.

Onboard activities

Enjoy Sunset sailings, special drink packages, sensual play areas, erotic experiences under the stars, nude beach days and much, much more.

Ports of Call

Grenada

Grenada otherwise known as The Island of Spice is home to the S/V Mandalay and your sailing adventure. It is one of the largest exporters of nutmeg in the world and home to over 110,000 Grenadians. The local people are warm and friendly and excited to share their culture. They are quick to offer suggestions for local activities and must-see destinations. Explore for yourself and uncover the gorgeous beaches, breathtaking waterfalls, and many outdoor activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking and fishing. And be sure to take time to see via glass bottom boat or diving, the only underwater sculptures in the world by English native Jason de Caires.

Bequia:

Friendly and charming Bequia is truly a heavenly experience as it is known to the locals as the “Island of the Clouds”.  Breathtaking views of an azure sea from the lush hillsides and fabulous beaches stimulate the senses and put the relax in relaxation.  Be sure to make time to tour the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary, founded by Bequian Orton King to help conservation efforts for the Hawksbill turtle. The Sanctuary houses turtle hatchlings to full grown adults and is an interesting as well as educational experience.

Chatham Bay, Union Island

Chatham Bay is located on the western side of Union Island and offers yet another beautiful beach surrounded by a dramatic landscape. This area is a perfect destination for sunning, water sports, snorkeling, or simply letting yourself unwind. Locals as well as tourists are found in the area and there are several beach bars and cafes available for your enjoyment.

Mayreau

This tiny island may be the smallest of the inhabited islands but it offers a unique experience away from the crowds of larger islands. If you want to get away from it all this is the place to do it. There are only a handful of roads on the entire island and one village where locals provide service like nowhere else. Enjoy your day exploring, sunning on incredible beaches or playing in the warm, Caribbean Sea.

Tobago Cays

Consisting of five, uninhabited islands the Tobago Cays Marine Park is another must see. This is the perfect venue for snorkeling with sea turtles and hundreds of species of fish off of the Baradel beach. The established and protected area is marked by buoys so the area can be kept in pristine condition while being witnessed as it was intended…with the eyes. After a day of water sports, relax on the palm lined beach and regenerate before the evenings activities.

Carriacou:

Carriacou is one of the largest Grenadine islands measuring at 13 square miles. Locals are seafaring people and the economy is centered on fishing and boat building where hand-crafted vessels are still crafted and sold today. Quaint shops and cafes offer up local fare for visitors and locals alike. Be sure to explore Hillsborough the main port, and tour the island to find hidden beaches and spectacular views.

Sandy Island:

Sandy Island is a unique U-shaped island which is uninhabited and provides the perfectly protected backdrop for snorkeling and scuba diving. There are several coral reefs off the island teeming with fish, turtles, and stingrays perfect for viewing. The local beaches offer another taste of paradise including rock-sculptures made by previous visitors to the island.
