A once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Stockholm, Sweden

Known as the capital of Scandinavia, Stockholm has a rich and unique history. By most historical accounts, Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, was founded in the 13th century by Birger Jarl. With origins as a leading trade post because of its strategic location, Stockholm's name derives from the words "stock" (log) and "holm" (islet) in acknowledgement of the city's distinctive bridges and waterways.

The city spreads out over 14 islands in Lake Mälaren and looks out proudly to the Baltic Sea to the east. Her grand public buildings, palaces, rich cultural history and museums tell her 700 year-old history beautifully.

Sweden's design capital is a juxtaposition of modern and medieval, Where boutique hotels and avant-garde restaurants share the cityscape with cobblestoned alleys and church spires.

Kick off your stay with visits to Stockholm’s two UNESCO World Heritage Sites: the Royal Palace Drottningholm (the residence of the royal family) and the magical Skogskyrkogården, or Woodland Cemetery. Stroll the cobblestone streets of Old Town and over the picturesque bridges that span the city’s canals. The 19th-century Skansen was the world’s first open-air museum and is still a premier place to learn about Swedish history.

Visby (Gotland Island), Sweden

A former Viking site on the island of Gotland, Visby was the main centre of the Hanseatic League in the Baltic from the 12th to the 14th century. Its 13th-century ramparts and more than 200 warehouses and wealthy merchants' dwellings from the same period make it the best-preserved fortified commercial city in northern Europe.

Visby is an outstanding example of a north European medieval walled trading town which preserves with remarkable completeness a townscape and assemblage of high-quality ancient buildings that illustrate graphically the form and function of this type of significant human settlement. The urban fabric and overall townscape of Visby is its most important quality.

A popular trading spot since the Viking Age, the island has soul and enough medieval architecture to take you back a few centuries. In fact, there are over 92 thirteenth - century churches still in use throughout the island. And Sweden's sunniest vacation destination is also blessed with beautiful sandy beaches, moors and meadows - ideal for those looking for some outdoor action

Warnemüende, Germany
The small fishing village of Warnemünde(pronounced VAR-nah-moon-dah) is a small, but very popular coastal resort. Originally purchased by the rich merchants of Rostock during the Middle Ages to protect their access to the sea, Warnemünde has grown from a sleepy fishing village into a colorful port town.

Modern day visitors use the town as a gateway to discover the treasures of the former East
Germany, including the country’s new capital, the historic and modern city of Berlin.

Warnemünde sits at the entrance of the Warnow River, a waterway that connects the medieval city of Rostock to the sea. The traditional red bricked buildings give Rostock its typical Gothic, Hanseatic features and harks back to a time when the city was the second most powerful center of trade in the region.

Rostock’s many historic churches, towers, and the architecture of its original burgher houses still combine to create a unique medieval atmosphere.
